Student Custodians clean and maintain various areas of residence halls including common areas and unoccupied resident rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Clean various areas of residence halls such as bathrooms, hallways, stairways, laundries, dining rooms, lobbies, and other public areas
  • Clean residence rooms (summer only)
  • Collect trash and recycling items
  • Clean windows, carpets, and hard floors
  • Move furniture and make beds (summer primarily)
  • Uses standard industrial cleaning agents
  • Operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor mops, wet vacs, and rotary floor machines

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be  a U of M Undergraduate Student enrolled with a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Knowledge of general household cleaning methods and equipment
  • Punctual, reliable, and have a positive attitude

Preferred

  • Previous custodial experience is helpful
