Temporary Housing

The University arranges temporary housing spaces to meet guaranteed housing commitments when housing demand is particularly high. We want to provide as many students as possible the opportunity to live on campus because of the benefits it provides, including the opportunity to make friends. Research shows that living on campus is a key factor in academic success.

Our goal is to move students from temporary spaces to permanent room assignments as quickly as possible.

Temporary housing spaces with 4 residents are ample size and approximately twice the size of a typical double room. They offer access to the same amenities/furniture as permanent housing spaces, including: standard residence hall bed and twin XL mattress; wardrobe; dresser or portable dresser unit; and a desk or lounge table for study space.

Rates

Students will always be charged for the specific room in which they live. Housing costs are adjusted to a lower rate for temporary spaces. 2024-25 temporary rooms will be billed at $2220 per person, per semester. Once students are assigned to a permanent housing assignment, their bill will change to the prorated rate for that building and room type for the remainder of the semesterReview the 2024-2025 rates.
