Are you a first-year underrepresented student (student of color, LGBTQIA) coming into CFANS?
The CFANS Diversity House is here to assist with the overall transition and holistic success of first-year underrepresented and marginalized students within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS).
Additionally, this LLC will provide students a sense of community as they navigate the first year of college at the University of Minnesota and in CFANS. Students will have the option to take courses together such as the CFAN 1101 (Dean’s Engaged Leaders Program), network with campus and community professionals such as dinner with faculty members, receive additional academic support through the Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence, the Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) Student Diversity Programs/Initiatives, SMART Learning Commons, and the North Star STEM Alliance, become more culturally competent through participation in the Social Justice Leadership Retreat and related activities, and develop community with peers through meaningful social activities; including involvement in the UMN Chapter of the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) student organization.
This community is open to first-year residents.
