Payment Information
There are four separate payments required to apply for and confirm your enrollment at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and to apply for and confirm your Housing Guarantee.
Applications
New First-Year Student (University Admissions Application)
- $55.00 University Application Fee (non-refundable)
- $280.00 University Confirmation Fee (non-refundable)
New First-Year Residents (Housing & Residential Life Application)
- $50.00 Housing Application Fee (non-refundable)
- $200.00 Housing Guarantee Payment (refundable through August 1)*
*Housing Guarantee Payment is applied as a credit to your fall housing bill
Returning Residents (Housing Application)
- $200.00 Housing Guarantee Payment (refundable per date stated in email correspondence)*
*Housing Guarantee Payment is applied as a credit to your fall housing bill
Each Payment has a Distinct Purpose
The $55.00 University Application Fee informs the University that you are interested in attending and the $50 Housing Application Fee informs Housing & Residential Life that you are interested in living on campus.
The $280 University Confirmation Fee reserves your place in the class and the $200 Housing Guarantee payment informs Housing & Residential Life that you would like to accept our Housing Guarantee offer and receive an assignment in on-campus housing.

Online Payments
Credit/debit card payments can only be submitted online. We are not able to accept credit/debit card payments over the phone.
Check/Money Order Payments
Make your check/money order payable to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Please write your Student ID number on the face of the check and send it to:

Housing Guarantee Payment Extension
To request an extension on your $200 Housing Guarantee payment, download, print, complete, and return the Payment Extension form to the Housing & Residential Life Office in Comstock Hall - East.
