About
The College of Liberal Arts’ President’s Emerging Scholars Living Learning Community (LLC) supports first-year students enrolled in the Emerging Scholars program in building confidence, developing leadership skills, and fostering meaningful connections with peers and the community.
Benefits
- Engaging Diversity: Students will learn how culture influences perceptions and behaviors, how to recognize systemic inequities, and how to practice respect, equality, and social justice while navigating diverse environments.
- Team Work and Leadership: Students will learn to contribute effectively in groups, leverage team strengths, manage conflict constructively, and influence outcomes regardless of formal authority.
- Active Citizenship and Community Engagement: Students will engage with and serve their communities, understanding the mutual impact of individuals and community while developing cultural awareness.
- Analytical & Critical Thinking: Students will evaluate issues from multiple perspectives, identify gaps in information, recognize personal biases, and make informed, thoughtful decisions.
Additional Requirements
Attend two meetings per month.
Attend one co-curricular event per semester.
Participate in one local immersion experience per semester or the Student Leadership Retreat.
