The University is proud to offer affordable cooperative and townhouse-style housing options for graduate students, students with families, and upper-division (junior and senior level) undergraduates. 

Housing Co-ops

Housing & Residential Life contracts with two student-owned cooperatives to provide housing for University of Minnesota students. Both properties are owned by the University but are independently managed as cooperatives.

Located south of the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus, CTC is only a few blocks from the UMN bus line and has easy access to the freeway system.

CSCC is approximately halfway between the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses and is located on the Metro Transit bus line.

Townhouses

Located on the West Bank of the Twin Cities campus, close to downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River. They can be shared with other students and require the same credit requirements as listed for on-campus housing. Units are available for immediate occupancy.

Bailey Hall

Living in Bailey in St. Paul, with its picturesque lawn and gardens, farm fields, and two museums, offers a peaceful retreat and a breath of fresh air.

Built in 1949, with additions in 1981, Bailey has five floors with space for 500 residents, its own dining hall, and is connected via tunnel to the St. Paul Student Center and other buildings. The free Campus Connector travels from St. Paul to the East Bank in a seamless 15-minute trip. 

Bailey Hall Rate:

The following summary rate is per person, per semester. Residence hall contracts begin August 31, 2024, and end May 14, 2025. This rate includes housing during fall and spring breaks. Housing over winter break (December 19, 2024, through January 18, 2025) is available for an additional fee. 

Single Occupancy Room  -  $4,617 per semester

Meal Plans

All residence hall residents are required to have a meal plan. Each plan includes unlimited meals (including grab-and-go options) and a certain amount of Dining Dollars. Some plans also include a limited number of guest meal swipes.
