What you need to know
Your current room may or may not be reserved for first-year students, Living Learning Communities, or other University programs. You will be notified via email if you are in a space that is eligible to stay in for the next academic year.
Review the accordions below for details on when and how to sign up for your space.
November 15
Step One
The Returning Student Interest Form opens for current residents and returning students interested in campus housing. Filling it out allows you to access Roommate Search if you are seeking roommates.
Pro tip! More people will join Roommate Search over time so check back for new matches.
November 22
Step Two
Current residents will be emailed instructions on how to claim a Room Sign-Up Ticket. Ticket holders will be assigned a date and time they can access the system for room selection, which begins in December, in the order tickets are claimed.
November 29
Step Three
Ticket claim opens at 9 a.m. Log in to claim your ticket to continue living on campus in a University apartment or residence hall. After claiming a ticket, you will receive an email with the assigned date and time you can access the system for room selection, which begins in December. Residents who are eligible and want to stay in their current space must also log in to claim their same space at this time.
Pro tip! Don't wait. Room Sign-Up time slots are assigned in the order tickets were claimed. Most tickets are claimed within the first few minutes after 9 am.
Please note not all buildings are able to accommodate returning residents. Watch for an email confirming whether you are eligible to return to your current space or building.
December 1
Step Four
Students who confirmed they will stay in their current space for 2023-24 can add/change any roommates to the room if space is available.
Pro tip! Doing this ASAP makes room selection go faster.
December 6-9
Step Five
Ticketholders will be able to access the system according to their assigned Room Sign-Up selection time to choose their new space for 2023-24. Residents interested in living in a Second-Year LLC may also select their LLC space at this time.
December 22
Step SIX
Those who completed Room Sign-Up in the December 1-9 period must pay their Housing Guarantee Fee by this date to be guaranteed housing. See Rates, Contracts & Fees for more information.
The Housing Guarantee Payment is refundable for cancellations received by January 23.
Early February 2023
New spring residents will have an opportunity to select space for next year. Fill out the Returning Student Interest Form in advance to receive Sign-Up instructions. The Housing Guarantee Fee for students applying in February is due 7 days after your application is submitted.

What is a Living Learning Community (LLC)?
LLCs bring students to live together in a dedicated area of a building. Take advantage of the unique—and free—housing option to expand your college experience through exploration and collaboration.
Talk with friends and potential roommates about your plans ahead of time and create a Roommate Group. Any student can create the Roommate Group and send roommate invitations (be sure to accept your invitations!). The group should choose the person with the best assigned Room Sign-up Selection date and time to act as room captain and select your desired space.
Gender Open Housing
Anyone interested in living in Gender Open Housing for the next academic year may reserve Gender Open space during Room Sign-up Selection. Fill out the interest form to confirm the gender identity and/or gender expression on your profile as this will be used to make Roommate Search matches and confirm final assignments.
Roommate Search
We use our Roommate Search tool for Room Sign-up to help those without roommates currently or anyone looking for additional roommates. Fill out the Returning Student Interest Form to access the Roommate Search tool.
Roommate Search asks students to answer several questions about themselves as well as about the type of roommate they would like. The tool will share matches based on your answers, and you can reach out to discuss being roommates. Pro tip! More residents will be added over time, so check back often for new matches.
