Find information to get you prepared for living on campus.
All residence hall and apartment buildings will remain open during spring break, April 5-9, but dining halls and other M Dining retail locations will be closed. Please carefully review our COVID-19 Updates to prepare for a safe and restorative spring break.
We want to help you plan ahead for the end of the semester and the end of your housing contract: May 12 for residence halls; May 31 for Radius, Wilkins, and Yudof apartments; and July 31 for Keeler apartments.

Summer housing options are available for students. You choose the exact dates you stay and pay a nightly rate. Summer assignments are based on room availability and the date applications are received.
Temporary housing is available to all newly admitted international students before the start of the fall semester. International Early Arrival Housing requests are only approved for extenuating circumstances, and limited space is available.
Coming soon! Details for fall 2021 move in will be finalized and posted later this summer on our website, shared at Orientation, and emailed to residents at their UMN email account. Final assignment notices will go out by the end of July.
All residence halls and apartments remain open November 25-28, and there is no extra charge for residents staying in their space. Note: dining halls are closed 25-27, and meal service resumes with brunch on November 28.
Apartment buildings remain open during winter break, beginning December 22, 2021. Most residence halls will be closed until 8 am on January 15 (Centennial and 17th Avenue may remain open). Dining hall meal service ends with lunch on December 22 and resumes with brunch on January 15.
Winter break housing for residence hall students is available for an additional fee. Details coming soon.
