Summer Housing

Information listed on this page is for 2025 Summer Housing. Details are subject to change. This information is only for current University of Minnesota-Twin Cities students. Non-UMN students wanting summer housing should review our Summer Intern or Guest Housing webpages, and incoming international students should review our Early Arrival Housing information.

Summer housing options are available for students. This is a great option for students taking classes, working, or doing internships over the summer.

You can choose the exact dates you stay and pay a nightly rate. Summer assignments are based on room availability and the date applications are received.

Options for Summer housing include:

Residence Hall (Pioneer Hall):

  • For stays anytime between May 17, 2025 to August 15, 2025
  • One-week minimum stay required
  • Students staying in Pioneer Hall between June 9, 2025 and August 15, 2025 will be required to pay for a meal plan (see details below)
  • Must be registered for one or more summer classes

Apartments (Keeler/Radius/Yudof):

  • For stays anytime between June 1, 2025 and July 30, 2025*
  • Two-week minimum stay is required
  • Meal plan is optional
  • Not required to be enrolled in summer classes

* Note: If you have been assigned to live in Yudof in the fall and are staying there during the summer, you may be moved to your assigned fall room as arranged by hall staff prior to August 15, 2025.

Apply for Summer Housing

Please review all information and requirements listed in the Details section below before applying for summer housing. The priority deadline for summer housing applications for students living in Yudof is March 15, 2025. Students who apply for summer housing after the priority deadline will be assigned where there is space available, which is most likely not in their spring room.

You will need a UMN internet ID/password to apply and a U Card to check in.
