Summer Housing

Summer housing options are available for students. You choose the exact dates you stay and pay a nightly rate. Summer assignments are based on room availability and the date applications are received.

Summer housing starts May 13 and runs through August 1 for apartments; August 15 for residence halls.

How to Apply

Students living in on-campus housing for both spring 2021 and fall 2021 are eligible to stay in summer housing whether or not they are taking a class during summer session.  

  • A one-week minimum stay is required in halls, two weeks minimum in apartments.

  • You will need a UMN internet ID/password to apply and a U Card to check in.

  • A meal plan is required for students staying in a residence hall June 7-July 31 (see Meal Plans below).

Students will need to arrnage their own parking as needed. Contact Parking and Transportation Services for information.

International Students

Temporary housing is available to all newly admitted international students before the start of the fall semester (this option is not available prior to spring semester). International Early Arrival Housing requests are only approved for extenuating circumstances, and limited space is available.
