Superblock

Located on the Minneapolis East Bank campus, the Superblock is a lively neighborhood of four different building communities, representing the largest concentration of residents on campus. Superblock is also home to nearly half of our Living Learning Communities, including all those sponsored by the College of Science and Engineering and Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE).

On any given day or night, Superblock residents will have no trouble finding activities and hangouts, including the nearby cafes, restaurants, and shops. Additionally, the Mall area, Huntingon Bank Stadium, and Coffman Union are all within a 10-minute walk.

There’s also no shortage of transportation options, from the Metro Transit light rail and bus to the free campus shuttles. During the winter months, students can escape the cold via the Gopher Way, an extensive tunnel and skyway system that connects many of the buildings on campus.

Campus Highlights

Light rail passes through Stadium Village

Just down the street from the restaurants and shops of Stadium Village and the University Recreation & Wellness Center, Superblock is adjacent to several University of Minnesota medical facilities. This includes Boynton Health clinics and the new Health Sciences Education Center, a state-of-the-art hub for health professional schools, where you’ll find some excellent study spaces. The neighborhood is close to Prospect Park, home to the historic Witch’s Hat Water Tower and East River Parkway’s biking and running trails.
