Starting the week of September 18, contractors will begin entering residents’ rooms to install new smoke detectors. The work will be limited to specific sections of the building over the next four weeks, and Housing & Residential Life will send further information to residents of the scheduled rooms before it begins.
As the project goes on, there will be contractors and other personnel in the building. They will be wearing company apparel and carrying identification, and they will be accompanied by a University of Minnesota representative when they need to enter a room.
For residents near the area of work, this work will produce recurring noise and vibration between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Every effort will be made to complete each task as quickly as possible.
