Summer Intern Housing is exclusively available for undergraduate, graduate, or professional students who are engaged in a summer internship, fellowship, or clinical rotations within the Twin Cities area. Summer Intern Housing is available to students from other institutions*.
For the summer of 2025, intern housing is available from May 23, 2025 to August 11, 2025.
*If you are a current student/resident at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, please complete a summer housing application.

Individual Registration
Group Contracting
If you’re managing multiple interns under a single contract, submit a group intern contracting request using the link below. The Group Contracting process is designed for teams or organizations to efficiently coordinate and finalize agreements for multiple interns at once.
Reservations & Policies
As a guest of University of Minnesota Housing, you agree to comply with all Housing & Residential Life regulations and policies provided by Conference & Event Services staff. If you desire a personal copy of the regulations and policies, please download the document below.
Policies are subject to change at Housing & Residential Life’s discretion. Changes will be made accessible and you will be notified of such changes.
Reservations are accepted on an ongoing basis based on availability and must be submitted at least 14 business days prior to check-in. All reservations are binding — Residents will be billed for the entire amount if cancellation is not received at least 14 business days prior to arrival.
During the reservation process, you will need to provide documentation verifying your internship, including the start and end dates and contact information for your supervisor or someone from your organization.
Payment
For full-summer stays, payment for the entire length of the stay is due by May 2, 2025. For all other stays, full payment must be made at least 14 business days before the scheduled arrival date.

Refunds incur a $30 fee to cover credit card and administrative costs prior to the cancellation deadline. Cancellations are eligible for a full refund, minus the fee, if made at least 14 business days before the scheduled arrival. Cancellations received within the 14 business days of arrival will be billed the full amount owed.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Conference & Event Services Office at [email protected]. Credit card refunds require the cardholder’s information, the last four digits of the card used for payment, and the reason for cancellation.
Conference & Event Services will begin the refund process once the cancellation is submitted. All approved refunds will be issued within 5 business days of receipt of the request. If the cancellation date is 120 days or less from the date of the transaction, the amount refunded will go back onto the card used for payment. If the cancellation date is more than 120 days from the date of the transaction, the amount refunded will be a check issued and mailed to you.
All reservations are binding; guests will be billed for the entire amount if the cancellation is not received in writing 14 business days prior to arrival. No refunds are provided for early departures.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you are bringing a vehicle to campus, you may register for parking via the intern registration form. Parking will be available in the 21st Ave Ramp at a daily rate.

Pioneer Hall
A residential dining center in Pioneer Hall is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Interns who wish to dine at Pioneer Hall may purchase a meal plan prior to their arrival through M Food Co..
We recommend bringing the following items for your stay:

Linens, blankets, a pillow, and a towel are provided.
Note: TVs and clothing irons are not provided.
The University does not provide transportation from the airport; however, there are many ways to easily access campus, including taxi companies and the public transportation system. For more information on Metro Transit, the public transportation system, visit metrotransit.org.
Check-in is 1 p.m.
Guests may arrive for check-in beginning at 1 p.m. on the first day of their stay and may check-in at any time. The information desk is open 24 hours a day.
Check-out is noon.
Departing guests must check out by noon the final day of their stay. No refunds will be given for early departures.
You will be housed in Middlebrook Hall. Check-in will be available at the Information Desk, located in the lobby.
To cancel your reservation, email Conference & Event Services at [email protected]. Include the guest's name, dates of stay, and the last 4 digits of the credit card used for payment when requesting a refund.
- For cancellations submitted at least 14 business days prior to arrival:
Your reservation will be canceled, your registration deactivated, and a refund issued (minus the $30 processing fee). - For cancellations submitted less than 14 business days prior to arrival:
Interns will be billed for the full amount of the reservation, and no refund will be issued.
Overnight guests are not allowed without having their own reservation. Contact [email protected] if you have a guest coming to campus at least 14 business days prior to their arrival.
